Another wonderful book on the Lawson brothers!!!
It’s important to read the other books in the series before reading this one. It’s also helpful to read about the Holland sisters series as well. It will help fill in several of the blanks on these two characters.
We have Elijah Lawson, the brother that loves travel and adventure and Skye Holland, who has a very odd upbringing as has run from her history and past.
They meet in Colorado and have a hot, steam affair. Skye run’s when things start to get serious due to her family history with men and what she thinks will happen. Elijah wonders what happened to her, but can’t find her so he heads home like he promised his folks he would do when he decided to stop with the travel/adventures.
So, back in Jessamine, Elijah has opened a bar with his cousin, Preston, and things are going great but he’s starting to get board with being in one place for too long. The travel bug is coming back and he’s getting the itch to travel again. That is until Skye shows up on his door step with the son they created during their steamy time together.
Skye doesn’t have anywhere to stay and Elijah is happy to have them with him and wants to pick up where he and Skye left off and make him and Miles (the little boy) a family.
While things are rough starting out, Skye wants this to work out and feelings start to come back full force. As she’s getting comfortable with the idea, Elijah’s brother Mason does something trying to help his wife (another book) and come to find out, his wife is related to Skye. Well as you can guess, that visit doesn’t go over good at all with Skye and it pushes her away from Elijah to the point she runs. While she doesn’t run far, just to her sisters in Holland Sprint were in the past and family/love can happen for the Holland sisters like everyone else. Skye doesn’t know this, but Elijah called in for support from the sisters and shows up to get his family. This time around Skye is open to everything he has to offer and goes for it. We end up with the HEA we love from Marquita.
Such a great read and it was nice to see what has been up with some of the family from the other books.
