********* I received a copy of this as an Advance Reader Copy (ARC) for review **********

In this fourth book in the Kings of Denver series, we have the love story of Tank and Sophie (who we met in Miller’s book).

We know that Sophie is a very head strong gal, while Tank is the loving, sexy gentle giant. Their relationship is very interesting and Tank gives Sophie the space she needs to be her. While doing her job is very dangerous, Tank feels that she can handle it as well as their relationship as long as Sophie stays honest and open with him about what’s going on.

Only problem is, Sophie takes off after a story she shouldn’t have and it end up costing both her and Tank more than ever. I don’t want to spoil it but by chasing the story, Sophie ends up in the hospital seriously injured.Given the loss that the both go through, Sophie pulls away from Tank. She can’t understand why he would want to continue to be with her given what went down, so she falls into a deep depression and pulls away from everyone. Tank, while he’s going through his own issues with what has happened to Sophie, he doesn’t understand why she’s pulling away. And she’s not just pulling away from him, it’s everyone.

So Sophie does what she does best, and runs. She heads back home to her family and finally falls apart. Little does she know, that when Tank goes home and find’s what she’s done, he takes off after her. When he gets there, her family is being supportive of both of them. Tank and Sophie finally talk and get things figured out and move forward together.

With the help of family and friends, the pick up the pieces and move on in their grief. While this is going on, Sophie finally gets her new phone working (old one is part of the story I won’t spoil) and all of the evidence that she collected that we thought was lost, comes back to her from the cloud and she’s able to turn it in and the cops go after the bad guy. Problem is, the bad guy is a very rich, sneaky bad guy and comes after Tank and Sophie again. This time Tank ends up hurt, but the bad guy does go down in flames (thank goodness!!!).

The story moves forward a couple of years with Tank and Sophie getting their HEA.

Thanks for such a great series Sheridan. It’s been a pleasure to read and enjoy all of these books and I can’t wait for the next group to come out!
